Durga Puja highlights the very best of Indian traditions and ethos and is a matter of great pride and joy for every person of Indian origin in every part of the world.
The Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi wished his family of all persons of Indian origin on Durga Puja. The honorable PM prayed to the goddess Durga for happiness and health for all.
In the spirit of that global Durga Puja celebration, SDKKM Houston and Puja Samithi of Greater Houston PSGH was fortunate to have Consul Subbhalakshmi Mohan represent the Consulate General of India, Houston as a Distinguished Guest of the SDKKM Maha Durga Puja on Maha Ashtami (auspicious 8th day) along with her Spouse at India House Houston.
Consul Mohan and her spouse participated in the Maha Ashtami (auspicious 8th day) evening puja and received blessings from Houston’s most venerable Chief Priest Dr. Bishnupada Goswami.
Consul Mohan was also felicitated by the Executive member of the SDKKM Temple Board of Directors Mrs. Sandhya Singh and SDKKM Puja Committee president Mr. Ashok Santra.

This Year, SDKKM Houston and Puja Samithi of Greater Houston PSGH were very blessed that The Honorable Mayor of The City of Stafford Mr. Ken Mathew attended The Maha Durga Pujo as a Chief Guest. His presence added a special aura to the grand Maha Durga Puja celebrations. The Mayor loved the warmth and hospitality extended by our esteemed Members and also received blessings from Houston’s most venerable Chief Priest Dr. Bishnupada Goswami. We were fortunate to have executive board members from the Temple Board of Trustees Mr. Arun Verma and Mrs. Vinodini Verma and executive member of the Temple Board of Directors Mrs Sandhya Singh as Distinguished Guests during the Maha Durga Puja.
